SSBB: The Subspace Emissary (Part 8A)
Part 8A of the Subspace Emissary. Here we join 3 Sword Fighters and two are new to brawl. Cast of Characters- Fighters- Marth: The prince of Altea, in whose veins the heroes runs. He and a small group of stalwarts fought to free Altea after it was invaded by the Knights of Doluna and the dark dragon, Medeus. With his divine sword, Falchion, he fought and defeated Medeus. However, Altea was then invaded by King Hardin of Akaneia and eventually destroyed. Meta-Knight: The head of the Meta-Knights, and something of a rival to Kirby. He's quite an accomplished swordsman. Following his code of knightly ethics, he once delivered his sword to Kirby and demanded single combat. His giant cape transforms into wings, giving im the power of flight. He's shown his face briefly before, but his relationship to Kirby is still a mystery. [Note: Meta-Knight plays an important role in SSM. His ship, the Halberd, was utterly attacked by the Subspace Army. Unfortunantly, he couldnt counter attack because King Dedede also attacked Meta-Knight. He was forced to abandon the Halberd and thus the Subspace Army took over it. There is no hidden cutscene that shows this but this is very true.] Ike: A member of Crimea's to fighting force, the Greil Mercenaires. He's a man of few words whose blunt manner gives the improvision that he's uncaring but he's actually a passionate hero. He was crucial to the reconstruction of Crimea. In Radiant Dawn, he contiues to show his deep sense of honor and leads the Greil Mercenaries in the aid of the Lagur Alliance. [Note: Ike is one of the most aggresive players in SSBB. His utter sword is absolutely devistating. One strike from his sword could ether send you flying at very low % or knock you off the battlefield. Ike is one out of a few of the strongest players in this game.] Events: The Ancient Minister appears in the middle of a deserted battlefield and sets off another Subspace Bomb thus drawing part of this world to Subspace. Not far away, Marth notices the eruption and a huge army of Primids headed in his direction. He pull's out his sword and fights his way. On the way to the Subspace Hole, Meta-Knight appears and attacks Marth. The Primids attack both of them. The Knight and the Prince team up against them. They continue their search for the Minister. Yet when they caught up to him, the Minister avoids their attacks but a golden sword comes out of nowhere and Ike along with it, strikes the Minister.

This Was a Pleasure for us to Shot We had a rare opportunity to Video a Mother Mockingbird (Mimus Polyglottos) Raising her Young She let us close enough to Film the Progress of her young growing over the 2 weeks before leaving the nest If anyone knows a Mockingbirds' Protectiveness Is Very High and they are NOT intimidated at ALL by Size and will attack without notice if they feel threatened So this was an Honor SHE let us get this close to her babies without attacking us We also noticed that the whole area was over run with Mockingbirds. It seemed to be a Group about 80 birds in total. All of them left the area after the babies were able to fly. We assume they all left together. Aero-TV Interviews A True Master Flight Instructor -- ...
Noted Flight Trainer Earns Exceptional Honor In each of the past 45 years, the General Aviation Awards program and the FAA have partnered to recognize a small group of aviation professionals in the fields of flight instruction, aviation maintenance, avionics and safety for their contributions to aviation safety and education. This awards program is a cooperative effort between the FAA and more a dozen industry sponsors. The selection process begins with local FAA Safety Team managers at Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) and then moves on to the eight regional FAA offices. Panels of aviation professionals from within those four fields then select national winners from the pool of regional winners. When all was said and done, the selection team chose Max Trescott, MCFI/MGI, of Mountain View, CA as the 2008 Nat'l Certificated Flight Instructor of the Year. Max is an independent Palo Alto-area flight and ground instructor specializing in instrument and technically advanced aircraft training (www.sjflight.com). A Master CFI, Master Ground Instructor, and FAASTeam representative, Max is also a noted aviation author and speaker and founder of Glass Cockpit Publishing. He represented the San Jose FSDO area (Jack Hocker, FPM) as well as the FAA's Western Pacific Region. Max was licensed to fly as a teenager. He earned degrees in Psychology and Electrical Engineering from Swarthmore College and an MBA from NYU. He worked for 25 years in sales, marketing and management positions for Hewlett-Packard and now devotes full time to teaching flying, speaking, and publishing aviation training materials. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and is an FAA Gold Seal CFI. He is recognized by the National Association of Flight Instructors as a Master CFI. He's a past President of Los Medicos Voladores or "Flying Doctors", and regularly flew volunteer medical teams to Mexico in his Cessna T210. I work with images that illustrate the creative power of suffering ( ie. oppression, loss and illness) and its ability to transform us. These works often use images of "strangers" (children, women, people of color... representing outsiders) that have been cast-off and later rescued. And they become unlikely icons speaking to us of our innocence. The tradition of icons is that they be used in prayer....praying with eyes open allowing the sacred to enter our hearts. And we then enter another world. But my work is also a practice of spiritual reclaiming. Stealing back from this world and modern religion what is most dear to us...our sense of self. Creating art for me is about having a voice and talking/taking back. The oppressive powers of this world, esp. religion and mainstream culture on the marginalized are fuel to my fire. The overwhelmingly destructive force of religion and its spokespeople, is present in our daily lives. Prejudice, hatred and intolerance are not only accepted, but are honored and revered. My work is my voice and it is...part scream... part song... part cry... part prayer. biography Gregg Cassin, a self-taught artist has painted since 1999. His sexuality, HIV status, Catholic roots, anger and hope all greatly influence his work. He lives in San Francisco with his daughter.
