Shania Twain made a special appearance at the CMA 2008 to present the Entertainer of the Year Award to Kenny Chesney, and received a standing ovation from the audience. It was her first time taking part in the CMA Awards since 2005. Meanwhile, this was Chesney's fourth time taking home the top honour of the night. He and Garth Brooks are now tied with the most wins in this category. CMA award winners are chosen by the voting members of the Country Music Association. The eligibility period for the 2008 CMA Awards spanned from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008.

Hugh Jackman jokes about being Sexiest Man Alive
Hugh Jackman became a gay icon after starring as Peter Allen in Broadway's "The Boy from Oz." Allen was a campy gay entertainer from Australia who was married to gay icon Liza Minnelli. While the musical got mixed reviews, Jackman received unanimous raves for his inhumanly energetic performance. Critics were amazed that he was able to retain his voice after belting out so many showstoppers so many times a week. Indeed, Hugh Jackman was the show. Once his contract expired, the show pretty much closed. Prior to that, Jackman also received accolades for a British production of "Oklahoma."
